What are you doing now Kent?

Window tinting. Discovered after I removed the side & rear glass that the tinters prefer it installed in the car so there is support for the glass. I can't argue with that logic. I need to pull it anyway so that I could repair the drivers storage box and the warped door panel. Also I needed to replace the psg window which had a bad spot where I hit it with the grinder years ago. It would have stuck out like a sore thumb after tinting. Hope to have it tinted this week. It bothers me when the sun is roasting my neck. Even with the AC on.

Damn @R1200rider that's beautiful, what size are those rear wheels?

Worked on the plumbing for the motor, waiting for a few more fittings to finish it.

Dropped it off at Ed Carroll Porsche. It will be on display in the showroom for a week during the 2020 Wheels for Meals car show. (Modified this year due to COVID)

Put a new fuel pump in my 2.2 '73.

Nice and quiet now...

I touched a chip that i caused in the bonnet. I also went around the car forcing as much wax as i could into the paint cracks to try and stave off water penetration.

Open wide and say Ahh.

Rebuild the fresh air box, thanks @mikey914 and 914rubber.com and tested the fan and it actually worked.
I bet that fan hasn't turned in 20 years.

We took both Elwood and Igor to cars and coffee this morning in Plano. We met up with Scott ( @scottthephotog ) and his Yellow 914 for the trip out and back.

Igor got lots of attention from the 911 crowd. One guy asked me if I could build him an engine and trans setup like I have for his 79SC. I told him how much I spent on just parts, and he said "never mind".

I removed the steering wheel and placed it back to make it look straight. Also, took the car to the shop to have the main seal replaced.

Walked past it to get in the Cayman

Got our 73 Delphi car back from the body shop... we think it is finally done

Started it up in storage today and every 2 weeks. Our EXTREME heat we have had in AZ does not really allow for it to be used in summer months.

Looks good, nice color

new speedocable and angle drive installed today. should be easy but of course the center console etc all has to come out, and it’s tight going thru firewall opening as i also have the O2 sensor cord going thru there as well. gave me a chance to install the back pad light, which i had not done since the upholstery guy didn’t cut the hole for the light.
light is in but it just does not want to grab the metal brackets . fought it for half an hour with pad out, finally got it in, installed the back pad into the car etc etc, and as i push the pad up into place it popped loose ugh ,
i think i need to look for an OEM light anyway——

I am having the clear-bra installed tomorrow morning. So I put the car on the left today so it is all ready for them. They usually do the installs at the bodyshop. But my garage is clean and dust free so they said they would be happy to come to my home to do the install. The lift makes it easier for them to since our cars are so low.

Finished installing Jerry's/Spokeworks' LED brake light modules. Bottom-line up front: Nicely packaged, great on-line instructions, well-made, and they provide a simple but HUGE improvement.

I was using the garage door as a screen because I was home alone and couldn't work the brake and see the brake lights any other way (the old dilemma: "How Can You Be in Two Places at Once When You're Not Anywhere at All"). Turns out to be a good way to gauge the difference between old and new.

Anyways, REALLY happy with the LED brake light modules' increased intensity...and they light up a split second sooner too, which might--just might--translate to a little quicker reaction on the part of the yoho behind me.

I've started saving up for the turn signal modules.

The clear-bra was installed today. See my thread for details about the installer if interested. They did a full hood wrap, full front fenders, headlights, fog lights, door edges below the handles, door cups, eye brows and headlight covers. The also did the fender well lips- the 1/2" wide part that is what gets rock chipped like crazy from the tires.
I am now protected and ready to drive.
