The car arrived today. I bleed the brakes. Starting with the rear and then the front. Then I read the manual which said I had to bleed the front first so I started again. Strangely I couldn't get the brake pedal any firmed. I used a pressure bleeder. Pretty sure I removed all air from the system. Should I of had Mrs B pumping the brakes instead?
Then I changed the oil. It was pretty low. Since this car has sat for a few years. I will run for 100-200 then change the oil again to clean out any crap. I didn't take the strainer off but will do that next time. Less than 3l when in which is strange?
There is a smell of burning oil when the motor is running but I guess there might be some oil in the hear exchangers?
Next I need to get the gears changing but I don't know how to access the coupling? Is it from the black panel between the seat or from under the car?
Check out the bleeding procedure on the PMB website. Worked great for me. This was after a complete new parts swap. Lines, MC, calipers and I took apart and cleaned the pressure regulator.
https://www.pmbperformance.com/gravity-bleed.html If your car has been sitting and/or the brake system is in unknown shape you may consider a refresh. My rear soft lines were literally plugged up from age.
You have oil dripping onto your heat exchangers. Make sure they are not leaking or you may have a dangerous situation bringing CO2 into the cabin.
What year car? I just went through and replaced all of the shifter bushings in my tail shifter 1970. They were so worn out I couldn't find any gears. No adjustment will help with that.
