Looks good, what light did you use?
it's a Pilot model #WE6-198 that i found in my stash. i probably bought it 12 years ago and forgot about it
standard GM/Chevy suburban type upper center brake light.
installation involved drilling a keyhole slot in the center base of the light and installing over a partially-inserted roll bar pad screw. easy, non-destructive and reversible.

Had to take advantage of a beautiful fall day to put a few more miles on it (just in case 242,332 one-owner miles aren't enough).
Beautiful Picture! I like those Pedrinis on your car. I have a set of them but never put on my ´71. I think I should get them repainted...
Thanks for all of the kind comments about the car.
RE the Pedrinis, I blasted and rattle-canned the wheels using articles/threads on 914world as a guide. I think I used Duplicolor primer, wheel paint, and clear coat. They ended up a little glossier than the OEM finish, but they are easier to clean and I like the look.
Hope this helps!

i drove it last night and the reflection isn't bad at all. it's right up against the glass, and the light aims out the back and ever so slightly down. i get a little bounce-back but it's not nearly as distracting as having a jacked-up bro truck with 20k lumen lights sitting behind me, which happens a lot around here

That blue is gorgeous....
Need a horn for the 914, I have spent too much money on this heap and couldn't justify spending more for a hockey puck horn pad so I figured I'd make my own version.
Total winging it since I do not have one to copy.
Still need to make the leather piece that sits in center.
Not sure if I will paint it black or leave as is.

@mueller that hockey puck looks great. I would shoot it the same color as the steering wheel spokes, but that is just me. Have you considered a 5-lug Fuchs center cap for the cap?

Not a huge accomplishment. Swapped out the cheesy chrome license plate frame with this well patinaed one from the original selling dealer. Still looking for an affordable example with the Porsche shields.
At 40 degrees trying to decide if I'm up for a ride in the heatless wonder this afternoon.

Ya, it was a special deal from a friend who pulled the motor 25years ago... Once he knew it was going in a 914 the price fell below 10k
but sure it will take a bit to rebuild her.

Then there was a car show and outdoor lunch gathering at Porsche Grapevine. Four 914s in the car show, and Josh (who needs to join world!) won the 914 class with his orange '76.

Well I have not been working on mine much lately, but I did put in a new fuel pump yesterday and then "cleared out the carbs" with a short sunset drive.
I've been using Holley Red fuel pumps with this engine and they're known for being loud, which is very true so I'm looking at an Osram or other replacement/upgrade now. This is a race plumbed setup with AN-6 and solid lines.

drove the car sunday after replacing a couple soft fuel lines, the one from the left side rail to the cold start valve was leaking! those hoses were new 5 years ago, but this one for some reason was also a bit loose. i have proper clamps etc , not sure why it was other than i think it was shorter thet it should be so no slack, , all good now! car loves the cool weather, and should be ready for a run down to Florida to need up with some other Teeners in N. Florida saturday for a PCA gathering at the St. Augustine Classic Car Museum, and a special 914 display! looking forward to meeting up with some old friends and meeting new ones. as a bonus i get to see my oldest daughter and bring the son-in-law with, they live just 30 miles south of there so good excuse to come visits them.
still don’t have wipers working that will wait- i did put a new sticker in the windshield!!
...
btw hard to believe a modern beetle looks so much larger than a 914 when parked next to each other
