There has been a break in our usual weather (rain) that is due to revert back to normal tomorrow with a dusting of snow possible by the beginning of next week. Today I took the teener out for a drive to keep the battery charged and the tires round
.
The car is forty-seven years old and is a lesson in haptic feedback. Unlike my modern daily driver, the steering gives you real road feel and the suspension is tight enough that you feel each bump and pebble. You actually have to use you own hands to roll the windows up and down. The stereo is, well, not. There is a clutch and you have to change the gears yourself. You sit lower than everybody else around you. Your survivability in a collision is lower (don't test this yourself) and the interior is not as quiet as the average daily driver. Seats are not heated nor automatically moveable. Adjustable lumbar support is not available. There is no blind spot warning nor back-up camera so you actually have to look over your shoulder when changing lanes or backing up. The car defines visceral.
I love it.
