@ValcoOscar - Congratulations on the absolutely beautiful car. If that was Greg's, he definitely put together a terrific car; it has all the right parts. beerchug.gif

It looks like Greg’s car. The car was professionally built by PMS.

Congrats Oscar on the new acquisition. Glad to hear that it will remain local.

installed new cables yesterday.

Changed oil and filter, topped up transaxle oil, adjusted clutch cable, and gave underside a general inspection and cleaning. Also reattached the rear valance. Wife says keeping that pretty muffler partially hidden is a nice tease…
Speaking of the new muffler, I’m finally getting used to the sound of it. Compared to the original 2L muffler, this one is just as Ben described it—a little louder, but significantly lower tone. Exhaust sounds a little more cammy/lopey at idle too. Car also seems to accelerate a little more quickly, especially from 2800 rpm on up. Nice.
Cairo94507
@andressj - Your car looks real nice; I believe they all need a rear valance to finish them off. That muffler looks perfect. beerchug.gif

Put the badges on the 75 today. Got the new plastic tray for the package box as well. Took the seat rails and cleaned them up so they can be put in and, if I'm really aggressive, I might still go out here and adjust the back pad.
DRPHIL914
completed the seal replacement on the motor and transmission, cleaned it up before reinstalling, with some new hardware and new clutch disc, and
added a spacer washer to the transmission mount just above the cupped washer to lower the rear of the transmission and therefore the muffler about 1/4” just enough to stop it from rubbing on the heat shield and the tips on the valance.

Gave it a good wash after it's biggest trip yet. (For a 3-day robotics competition at UC Davis).

Installed a rear view mirror finally--used one made for a side by site UTV and it mounts on the rollbar, kind of cool, I was able to mount it way up high and out of the way without having to bond anything to the windshield at all (the other clip in the pic is the GoPro mount):

One of the things that drove me nuts about my car was that the only locks that matched (and I had a key for) were the ignition and drivers door.
Bought a full set of locks from @TheCabinetmaker beerchug.gif and started the swap out
Managed to get the rear trunk, ignition done, then got into the drivers door for some "while I'm in there" work--man, cleaning and relubing up the mechanisms made a *HUGE* difference... Also took the opportunity to install the 914rubber vapor barriers to replace the trashbag version that was on there underneath:
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachment

Buttoned that back up and then put the car on the quick-jack in preparation to drop the front bumper to get to my front trunk, to fix the cable and then swap out that lock also...

Then ran out of time... Still need to get in there then finish up the passenger door, I have a new main window glass piece for that door so I figured I'd save it for last... smash.gif

I have been hauling around the same (never used) spare tire in the trunk since I acquired Elvira.
I decided it was time to replace the spare (1999 date code) with something that I could safely use, if needed.

I have a 914 in the shop getting a full resto and I needed a cart to move the bare chassis around the shop. These ended up being more like stilts than a traditional cart. I got them back from the powdercoater last week and I finally had time to get them mounted. They put the car at a great working height in order to tackle some of the preliminary rust repair, flare install, etc.

I've been doing brakes... rebuilt calipers, new pads, replaced rear braided hoses with fresh rubber. Found some pedal travel laugh.gif but still having trouble with the right front locking up early. Ordered rubber 911 front hoses and noticed the m/c was leaking, so bought that too. PITA job and after a couple hundred presses finally got a firm pedal. Better but still locking up the right front early. At this point hoping it's just the very old tires.

Started painting the new wheels. Went back to square, 225/45 on 17x7 from the staggered 16s. Heavier than the 16" 205 fronts, lighter than the 16" 225 rears. 21mm spacer front, 21+5mm spacer rear.

Looking good lots of shiny new parts ,looks like a great build ,I did a small bore build for a customer late last year and really enjoyed it,1.8 L based on 411 carb case and NOS euro pistons and cylinders with 36 DLRA's so pleased with how it ran.Click to view attachment

Anyway I digress ,just getting over Covid 2.5 weeks later and feeling heaps better but still weak ,pretty shit thing to have really !! had stopped other projects to recover but today pulled the cover of the 914 and had to get it running as sitting for too long.
Topped up a bit with fresh fuel, checked fuel lines and primed to 3.2 psi and bingo the baby six fired up after 3 throttle pumps, always amazes me how well these motors start.
Ran till oil temp up enough then shutdown as I can't drive it due to REAL bad rear wheel bearing.
I have again proved the starting power of my AGM small battery, not a charger near it in 12 months and only 4 starts from the 2.2.

Yesterday, I moved HOWARD to the front yard with the Parkit motorized dolly so I could get the 912 out of the back yard (also using the dolly). Great tool wink.gif

Next on the to-do list, I need to get AAA over here to transport the 912 down to the restoration shop.

Then, in the afternoon, a couple friends on their way to AZ stopped by and helped push HOWARD back up onto the mid-rise lift. HOWARD will have to stay there until I can find a body shop equipped with the requisites to straighten out the driver side's trailing arm mounts. Been hitting a brick wall finding anybody to perform that task headbang.gif

While my friends were here, good fortune struck again ... we loaded up my Smithy lathe/end-mill/drill press and my soda-blast cabinet onto a box truck heading back to AZ, since there's no way they'd fit in the back of my truck. They'll unload those nifty tools in my workshop there. Freed up a lot of room in the CA garage as well biggrin.gif

Drove the car for the first time for pleasure after electrical melt down last summer. Alternator started electrical issues which lead to new engine harness, alternator, starter, CDI box. Work was done by Rolf at Don’s Autowerks and they did a fantastic job. After the drive, I replaced the ripping drivers seat bottom. Happy with the results.

Well...this was last Saturday: lead for the vintage group at our local region's latest "fun run."

That's Richard Hanes ( @gatornapper ) is in his 931 three cars back.

A great day, with nice sunny weather and about 130 trouble-free miles...

...until it came time to put the car away, then "G" light on bright and steady, and no charging. headbang.gif

Spent the last couple of days rounding up the usual suspects (between honey-do's). Hope to have the newly cleaned and tested relay plate and VR back in the car this weekend.

Did I mention the "honey-do's"?
