Went for a 2 hour rip! Had to try out the new speedo.
It works perfectly up to 160kmh as far as I could tell wink.gif
Allegedly of course

Did you had a mph speedo? Or was it a one to one replacement? Mine has a mph and I want to switch to km/h, In Mexico is what we use and mine was a California car…

KPH speedos are out there, but they are kinda rare. All of the Euro 914s had KPH speedos, and they are interchangeable with a 911 mechanical speedo. Or you can send yours off to North Hollywood Speedo, or Palo Alto Speedo and get the gauge face replaced with one in KPH.

Hope that helps.

Got my new taller intakes from CB Performance and installed one of them. This is going to offer about an inch of extra clearance for the new carb linkage. The other side will tell the tale.

Another one of those what the heck is that. Yes like most the stuff I post here.
I really want to post a picture of the car on the ground so as soon as it is I will post it here.
Thank you for your tolerance.

Been working on the rear of the car namely sorting tailight leak and fixing the resulting light surface rust as the OP's painters touch up was less that suitable in the trunk, now topcoated after using high zinc primer and POR15 for the worst area's which luckily were little.
Constantly looking @ my rusty muffler that is a bit of a dented mess underneath as came from a 911 but very sound otherwise, when fitted before first start after the engine conversion I give it a rough coat of zinc weld thru primer, rather surprised how long most of it lasted.
Selected Rust-oleum 2000F rated high temp exhaust paint for new coating but need to get all the surface rust off and that's not a quick job dry.gif .

After lots of prep work got the muffler clean enough to apply new high temp paint and happy even it is flat silver and not grey because that is all I could buy dry.gif .
Reset tail pipe for more even clearance on the rear valance before baking the whole thing @ 150C twice ,will run it up final "cook" as now installed.

Finally had the parts I needed to install the driver's door pocket top flap stop. Pulled the door panel off, installed the stock stop onto the door panel and reassembled with a new cage-nut in the door where I had one that was problematic for the actual pocket. All back together with door panel leather conditioned. beerchug.gif

Finished up the Tangerine Carb Linkage install, with the exception of some fine adjustments. I need to replace a few fuel hoses and then I'll fire it up and see what happens. The linkage itself seems to work great....pretty slick!

Replaced a couple of fuel hoses, put the final adjustments on the Tangerine carb linkage, threw the seat back in, tried to fire it up......the carb that I rebuilt is still leaking.... bummer. Positive: Tangerine system works great. Negative: I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy 2 new carbs to get a baseline and reboot. Gotta love it. More Negative: I'm missing the absolute best driving weather in Georgia....DOH!

Tinkering around I noticed a new air filter sitting on the shelf. I do like to buy stock of common parts like oil filters etc. But couldn't recall ordering extra filters. Went to check the one in my 914-6 and zowie it was dirty! Must mean I bought to replace and forgot I had it.

Very nice- your tailpipe looks perfect. beerchug.gif

Thanks Michael, nice hearing that from you,OP had a large exist pipe welded on to suit rear 914 valance as mentioned ,thought I would just slip a piece of stainless pipe over it and job done, however O.D. was all wrong.
Found this "ricer" tailpipe extension and cut the inside reduced section off and profiled it to the pipe..bit bigger than I would have wanted but I kinda like it.
Crossing my fingers this Rust-oleum paint is up to it ?,hope to run up today and check.
Moved to repairing RH side tailight lens with had to top section of the clear part broken off, great lens otherwise ,found a spare egg tray from my new fridge and cut and grafted a piece in,a very tricky job but came out great...better than my crappy pics lol-2.gif .

Did the gaps shrink? From what I know a larger gap (to a point) will provide a greater spark. Runs better is always a good thing

very nice!! piratenanner.gif i have had mine disconnected until i knew for sure my push rod tube and oil cooler seals were leak free after reinstalling new seals on this motor in the spring, now that cooler weather is upon us its time to get those all back in. Its nice having some heat and amazing how much there is even with the stock set up . Enjoy, that is a beautiful car!

Gaps can get closed up in shipping. I have seen them almost touching. I can't remember who shipped them tubes on the end to prevent that.
