Finally got my car on the dolly. Now I can begin to see what really needs to be cut in order to fit this motor.

Looks sweet. I like your use of the cig tray - looks almost factory!

Loaded up the truck with bottles & cans to recycle ... got $57. smile.gif ... then proceeded to Mike's (mharmon) to spend $40 of it on a nice set of fog light grilles. (Thanks Mike) beerchug.gif

I spotted a green '74 parked in a driveway a few blocks away from Mike's. I had seen it before, just forgot 'where' confused24.gif

Decided to stop on the way home and introduce myself. Belongs to a gentleman (John), said it was his DD for quite a few years, not so much these days. Needs a little body work, rusty partial cowl and R. F. fender ... I recommended Milt sawzall-smiley.gif welder.gif

I also provided John with 914World info, so hopefully he'll join the forum confused24.gif

Also stopped at my friend Aaron's to snap a few of the '67 bug we might buy idea.gif

Needs a new rear apron and some other minor body work, also needs new seat covers and headliner ...

EDIT: We bought it blink.gif

Aaron's wife, Donna, affectionately calls it the 'Tomater'

Drove the car to Home Depot to pick up a dremel bit. Decided to take the highway and stretch it's legs.

Got on right behind another 914! What are the odds?

He had some funky wheels and a plate that said "Lotus F1" I think.

I'm taking the car to the local autocross tomorrow.

Drove it to Monterey. Went to Bonhams auction, down to Carmel to see the Pebble Beach cars tour, over to Haggerty seminar, walked through the RM and Russo and Steele auction cars then finished up at Mecum auctions. The owner of the 1931 Bentley let Nolan take the wheel of his car. The value of this car is 4.5 to 5 million dollars. Thank god he did not break anything while in there. The 914/6 ran well for the day.

Hoping to get over to the shop one day this w/e ... maybe I'll get a chance to take the 'BB' out for a spin confused24.gif

Came to the Legends of the Autobahn and took "the wife's". Bumblebee. The PCA organizer Paul placed the Bumblebee in a special interest section of the event. We were placed behind the Rothmans 911 Dakar rally weapon and next to an Audi R8 LE Mans car. The Bumblebee will cause both those cars to rust. biggrin.gif . Hurley came and too a picture with Nolan and then let Nolan sit in his car.

Started the car, backed it out of the garage, smelled gas, searched and found a leak, fixed said leak, decided not to go for a drive until I check all the fuel lines, put it back in the garage. headbang.gif headbang.gif

I've had my car up on jackstands for two weeks, put it up a couple of weeks ago to start getting it ready for my trip at the end of the month. Last Monday went to the range and hit some balls, hadn't played for a couple of years, by Thursday my back was getting tight, fri - mon I was flat on my back headbang.gif chair.gif guess I won't try that again soon.

Went back to work this week, still taking it easy.
Finally felt good today, got my valves adjusted, finally got my tuna can installed, oil/filter change, fixed my speedo angle drive leak, thanks for the part McMark beer.gif
New plugs, air filter, cap/rotor. Set the timing, adjusted the idle. (No points)

Cars running awesome, taking it for a drive tomorrow to check it out, then just some clean up and packing, we'll see how she hold up, 12 days on the road and a little over 4000 miles, guess I'll need a tune up and oil change when I get back too. driving.gif

I wish I could, my driveway is a bit steep and I would be hitting the spoiler.

I removed the bracket that the radiator gizmo mounts to, so that when the gasket for the Idle Air Control Valve gets here, I can take it apart and clean it, to see if that solves the intermittent idle problem.

I miss my car...
You see. Every day I have been working on a boat. The boat is in the way. It's sitting at the front door of the shop and I can't get the car out to play with it. I don't think I will have the boat ready for the water for another week. mad.gif

Removed the old headlights from the wrecked 6. I knew they were flat glass, but due to the damage, I couldn't see a brand/logo.

Got them out, found out they are vintage flat glass SEV Marchall headlights! Installed them in the yellow car, and damn, now I can see at night! The pep boys Sylvania cheap lights always sucked..
