Went to C&C in Irvine and saw 914kids beautiful blue car of the month. Didnt see him around, then the car was gone when I was back in the area where his car was
Also chatted it up with the owner of a sweet restored tangerine 914-6. He said he has a resto thread here. Anyone have a link?

Had a flat tire on the way home from work, it had s hole I could stick my finger into.
Tried to find a used one to replace it, but nobody had one. The only tires the shop had in 196/65/15 were Firestone champions. I only had time to get the one I had off of the carcchanged before they closed, so I'll get another one tomorrow, and get two more next paycheck...
I guess the good news is that I'll have a new set of firestones instead of the primewells I was going to buy soon anyhow.

Hey Ripper, did it look this bad? (I could put my whole hand in it, in several places)

Finished up my rear suspension rebuild on Lil Bastard, specifically adjusting the venting clearances for the rear calipers. Bleh. Not a fun job. Actually it took all afternoon to get them perfect.
Now to get my GF to help me bleed the brakes and then safety wire the CV inner flange bolts and I can FINALLY take him off the jack stands!

I was driving the 'BB' to get a bite to eat last night when an unanticipated rain shower hit. It dumped quite a bit of water and I found myself hydroplaning a few times
Guess it's time for that set of new tires to go on it
Bright and sunny today, the 'BB' is nice and clean, and I drove to my Dr.'s appt. ... will probably drive it to the shop today as well

Didn't touch the 914...
But I ran the air hose in the attic from the compressor on one garage, about 50 feet to the ceiling mounted new air hose coil on the other garage.
I am happy because...
1. I did not stand up prematurely and impale my scalp on roofing nails
2. I did not fall through the ceiling drywall into the garage.
3. No leaks.
However... I was missing ONE final coupling to finish the job! LOL.
At least I don't have to go back in that freaking attic!

I drove the little car for the last time.............
She drove wonderfully, and I was delivering her to my other garage area where the truck will be picking her up to take her across the United States to her new home and her new owner who is very excited for her to get there.
So for now it will be waiting to move the 356 here to it's new home.
Thank You all for the encouragement and fun.

Met a long-time Porsche 911 owner ('73.5 T) who is looking to get a 914. Though he has owned the 911 for a couple decades and autocrossed and tracked it heavily over the years, he has been out of the loop for a few years due to health reasons.
Now that he is making a comeback, everyone is telling him "No, you can't autocross that car, it is too valuable!"
His solution... sell it and buy a 914 to build up the way he wants
I let him drive my 914 and he absolutely loved it - low to the ground, quick steering, mid-engine, like a go-kart. Yet another 911 owner realizing the qualities of a 914

Drove the 'BB' to the shop. Didn't do nothing with it, although it needs a few minor issues taken care of.
Worked on the '67 bug. Replaced the fuel lines, put oil in the crank case, installed a [working] stereo (Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette deck), installed the rear deck lid, replaced the right rear turn signal bulb and took it for a short drive to test everything out
... now it just needs some For Sale signs

I had to pick up a new mud flap for the Westy, just happened to be a short distance from Jim Hoyland's place, so stopped by Jim's to help out with his transaxle re-installation.

Got a newly cleaned and powder coated belly pan from Bruce Stone, as you can see a good bit of rust and yuck on the old one. The other side was full of that bad undercoatimg that I think was applied by the dealership when new. That crap was all over everything, including suspension parts and brake lines! .
Also thanks to Mark Whitesell for the seals! (914rubber)
