installed a Tangerine firewall shift rod bearing upgrade....hey, I can find the gears now

This is a fantastic upgrade, very easy to install. Made a huge difference in shifting, even before the tranny rebuild. Hardest part was getting that damn boot back on mad.gif

I spent a full day cutting my 4" exhaust system apart and realigning all the pieces to fit back to my relocated engine. What a PITA! The good news is a was able to raise the muffler to the bottom of the bumper for a cleaner look.

Over the weekend I slapped this wheel from rhodyguy onto the car. Not as much legroom as the D shaped Sparco, but it looks cool and has a nice grip. Not bad for a French product bootyshake.gif Thanks Kevin!

Changed the wheel column bearing while I was in there. It was a snap with the assembly removed.

Much nicer without the wheel slopping around piratenanner.gif

The wheel in my '75 wobbles dry.gif ... Where did you get the new bearing? ... Part #?
Porschef
Mark, I got it from PP.I think I got one of the last ones at the time but looks they've replenished their stock. It's a very simple job, bless ChuckC for his post but it's so much easier once you remove the assembly. It all pulls off, then removing the four screws takes the delicate electrics out of the way and then it's just a circlip and a little sweet talkin' and it comes right out. I placed three pieces of shim stock (aluminum foil) into the bearing recess just to ensure complete tightness.

Dude, my heart goes out to you on this one, the same thing happened to me a few years back but the wheel never came off; I had spit 3 of the four lugs - at about the same speed sad.gif

Pulled over, picked up the lugs, jacked up the car, put em back on, and all was good.

Sorry to see you extended the experience... barf.gif

Put another 23 miles on the LE, up to 47739 original miles now. Washed it afterwards, snapped some photos & tried to download them & found out my old Canon s500 digital elph is not compatible w/ my new pc w/ Windows 8.1 64 bit OS. chair.gif Going to call up Canon tomorrow & see what they can do for me because tech support is not open on Sundays.

Try dumping your pix into Paint, then saving as .jpg and see if that works for you confused24.gif

Nope, not w/ paint or Irfanview. PC is not recognizing the camera/USB device. I dislike Win 8.1 a lot & should have gone w/ Win 7 hissyfit.gif No drivers seem to exist for this camera w/ 8.1. Called Canon & they gave me their tech support number so I guess I'll just give them a call tomorrow. My problem is meaningless in comparison to Erben914. Christ that has to hurt.

Damn.... Find somebody that has put flares on their car and they will have a section of the front fender that will repair the damage. I'll check the ones I just did.

Thanks, Joe. PP is only a few miles from here smile.gif

The wobble is just one of those bothersome fixes the car still needs taken care of. Little by little they'll all get taken care of driving.gif

Me I played with my car today. First time in 10 years! (car delivered to me July 4 a 10 year resto.) I installed my fire ext. under the dash. So much fun just to fiddle around. I am happy.Click to view attachment

Thanks big cat! That was plan B.
Plan A worked out. Less than 24 hours later I am ready to re spray the fender. A little pulling pounding and a thin skim coat. Unfortunately I'm getting pretty good at this. Click to view attachment Click to view attachment

I was going to offer a piece off the red car, but looks like you got it under control. smash.gif

At least the paint is fresh, it'll blend well. Looking good.

How's the engine running?

I finally got around to popping the rattling, loose rear window out and found that the previous owner jammed just about everything he could find between the glass and the trim in hopes of quieting the rattling. This, instead of just repairing the window.

Here's a pic of about 1/3 of what I pulled out of there. It included corrugated cardboard, bits of styrofoam, wood shims, folded up matchbooks (with a match still inside), the tag from a pair of Calvin Klein Sport jeans, and what I think was a matchbook from Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips.

Butyl tape going in tomorrow along with the glass. Good news is that all looked dry and solid behind the backpad.

Oh, that reminds me ... I have a 2.7 at the shop that I still need to evaluate sad.gif

It's been so hot & muggy down this way that the shop is plain miserable without insulation or AC dry.gif

Good luck with the 3.2 smile.gif
JStroud
Ya I'm pretty excited about it, the 2.7 was a lot of fun love the power and top end on the -6's, wasn't looking forward to how much time my car would be down during the rebuild.....then the 3.2 came along, a little more money then rebuilding the 2.7, but quicker getting my car back on the road.....and its a 3.2!!!

Ya Mark it's been hot and muggy here too, my shops insulated, guess an air conditioner is next.

I remounted my injectors to the rail. With clips this time so the don't crop into the manifold and cause a boost leak. I loosely tightened the manifold back on. Before this, I painted the manifold and rail. They look purdy. I hope to have it off the jack stands in a couple weeks.
