Well it ain't going to happen today headbang.gif chair.gif headbang.gif The AN lines that came with the motor leak, and of course it was the line going from the bottom of the tank. icon8.gif

Soooo another order to summit racing for fittings to change the old AN lines to rubber fuel lines. I love Summit, most of my orders arrive the next morning....they rock....this doesn't.

Oh well, everything is hooked up ready to go.....just need fuel, shouldn't take long to change it, already drained the tank, good thing I only put maybe a gallon in, and removed all the old AN lines. Just need to finish the fuel lines again, hook up the battery and see what happens. But that won't happen till next weekend, working long hours all this week.

Stay tuned,

Jeff

There must be an event or something coming up....after sitting for months without being touched, now the job is to get everything done in 2 weeks. blink.gif

Windshield is out. Upper and lower dash is off(fuching dash nuts!) Dash face is stripped. Fresh air controls are pulled out and in the process of being deleted. Defrost vents are deleted. All to be recovered and whipped back into shape before RRC. biggrin.gif

Drove it to Huntington Beach pier, now with my wife. Nice but scary wave about 15 feet high. And ate lunch at In & Out burger.

Hi Mike, the app is called Speedometer with Icon "55" Free app.
Cuda911
What's the purpose of the app if you have a working speedometer?

Also, I'll have to head over to the O'side pier and check out the waves this evening.
ndfrigi
Hi sir, the speedo app is just to verify my car speedometer since my tires are are 185x65x15. My car reads 5 mph higher.
Cuda911
^^^ Ah, OK, thanks. Maybe I'll download it and give it a try.

Went for an evening drive in the 914 to check out the waves and take some sunset pix:

I did some more detailing. Gas cap now sparkles. I'm doing a deep detailing on few pieces of hardware every day or two. Also, painted a couple small scratches.

Took it to Cars & Coffee this morning in Carlsbad, CA.

And, of course, went for a drive along the coast in it, as I do almost every day.

Hi sir Mark,

I paid $500 for the set of 5 but I ended up driving to Watsonville with my family and you know make it an overnight vacation in that area and off course spend gas, nice hotel for family and a lot of meals and snacks with 2 kids around. So this wheel costs moe than $1k. Hehehe just saying....... But the wheels are really clean no need to restore.

Now I will be needing 5 lug conversion

Thanks again Mark and God bless!

IIRC, I was still recuperating from surgery and PT 3 days a week, wasn't able to go on a road trip at the time dry.gif

I didn't know you were thinking about doing a 5-lug conversion ... just sold my 5-lug suspension components a month ago.

Got tired of all the leaks so cleaned the oily grime off the underside of the engine due to leaky valve cover gaskets and swapped the leaking gearbox for the original unit.
While it was on jack stands, I adjusted the valves. Once back on the ground, changed the oil, adjusted the clutch, and took a short drive with my wife.
My wife generally shows no interest in the 914 but today she mentioned going for a ride. blink.gif
So after a fuel stop, I asked if she wanted to drive. After some adjustments such as seat all the way forward and the passenger seat cushion behind her back so that she could reach the pedals, we headed down the road.

Our conversation went something like this:
"So... you like the 914 for being a small car and low to the ground. What else?"
"Handling."
"Yeah, I can see that." as she moved the wheel back and forth. "Very quick steering." driving-girl.gif
"If you are feeling daring, go past our turnoff," I suggested. It's a road my granddaughter and I call the Baby Dragon happy11.gif
As she drove the curvy section of road, she remarked, "Yeah, I can see how this could be fun." rolleyes.gif

Happy 9/14 all month long!

Finished rebuilding my Bosch Fanfare horns I picked up on ebay.de a couple of weeks ago. One cleaned and trumpet replaced with a better condition spare I have, the short one totally refurbished. Although I'm not quite happy with the impossible to remove stains. Another part ticked off the very long list to my planned GT conversion - until I find a NOS set that is........

I drove my daughter to her first day of school in my SIX. It's her last day she needs a driver to start school; next year she will have her license. I also picked her up at the end despite the rain. My kid loves the 914 so making memories was my plan.
