Getting this wheel ready to foam wrap, and then sew on leather….I'm going to run a hockey puck style horn button…. Oh, and I drove it all over the place because the weather here is in the eighties. Darn.

How do you add the foam to the wheel?

Wrapped the spare tire platform in felt carpet and installed a front sway bar. Steel fuel line arrived today so will look to install that this weekend and get her back on the road!

Looks nice, but I'm curious why you're storing your spare on top of the platform instead of down in the belly underneath?

I tried to crank it...
The starter went out, so I hadn't driven it in a few days. I fixed it yesterday ( 20% off online at advance auto) and had been driving the boss lady's truck, so I got dropped off by a coworke this afternoon. I needed to buy liquor, so I went to take the 914 and it was dead.
I should have ran it for longer yesterday, I remember thinking"fuck it" iit's fixed. I'll jump it off tomorrow.

I received a package in the mail from France today. It is a NOS MoMo steering wheel from 1991. I switch up my steering wheels on my car once in a while to mix it up a bit. I either run stock or a 350mm Prototipo but sure am excited to try out this 370mm wheel that has just the slightest dish to it. It was reasonably priced considering some of the earlier flat Prototipos can get into the thousands. Pictures of it on the car to follow once I get it mounted.

i am starting to think that my 914 doesn't like me...after driving at least 5 times a week for about a month, the ignition switch is acting up with intermittent non-starting. I then decided to use a by-pass switch with the thought of an "anti-theft" solution. This worked great! Now, 2nd and 3rd gear is grinding! Transmission rebuild or clutch replacement is not on the budget. I am hoping to get a huge tax return or else 914 will be back collecting dust and patina. i will need a car cover. No I can't. My neighbors cats will shred it into pieces.

Nothing to the car....but I've been cleaning and rearranging the shop, had some time yesterday and turned an empty corner into a work area. Built a workbench, then organized all the parts for my 3.2 conversion. Got most of the parts collected....now it's time to start putting it all together, only two more months if I'm going to drive it to WCR.
