Visited the "clean-er" case to discuss the build. That's the oil tank behind it.
It's so hard playing the waiting game, parts are out for balance, pistons and cylinders are coming, pipes are coming….

Hey Cary! I looked at it briefly but didn't do a real detailed post-mortem. It appeared the whole assembly lost enough "structural integrity" that it just wasn't making contact when turned. You could sort of "sense" that it was going to go at some point, as you had to turn the key a certain way in the ignition to get it to work. Then yesterday afternoon as I was changing the oil just nothing. With the new switch in, it fired up nicely. About 2 months ago I put in a hot start relay. Maybe that will help prolong the life of this one

Today I took off the rear big black bumper of my '75; I don't want to backdate the bumper , but I want to lighten it. I could put a lot of holes in it but this is gonna take a lot of time. Some time ago I saw a very light insert here on the forum made of tubes welded together , but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know who makes them?
The front bumper will be easier to lighten up, since as far as I know it doesn't have that many layers.

Yesterday i welded in 2 small fresh metal sections in the hell hole battery tray area. Also welded the new battery tray support bracket. Today i used bilt hamer epoxy primer on said welded areas. Tomorrow the battery tray itself will be welded on and a final primer coat applied.

The new battery tray was welded in. The inner wing was mas good afterwards.
Skim of bondo on the rear panel to take out the dimples.
Front fender gaps ckecked next to bulk head. 1 mm out on passenger side now sorted.
1 more "little" job before i replace the front wings.

Epoxy primered the last repairs. Inner wing/battery tray.
Now waiting on some product info to move forward.
I now have some more free time over the next 2 weeks so hopefully i can finish welding and get the car fully primered ready for my sprayer to come and tell me it's good enough for him to take away and paint.
I might get to drive it before the summer blinks past us.
