So stuck for a bit until i find out about rubber for windscreen.
Picked off the bitumen type floor covering where it was loose. A bit of surface rust but no holes. Very lucky on that point.

Yesterday I built a motor dolly, plucked the 2.2L motor out of the car, removed the left side header, tin lifters and push rod tubes and head and will install a matching new head today if the parts arrive. All of this due to the fact that I blew a spark plug big TimeCert out of the head while cruising PCH a couple of days ago.....
and for fun, i cleaned a surface or two on my 3.0 project motor prior to teardown...

Your motor dolly looks nice (and your clean workbench and that -6!). Was it your own design? Would it work well for just pushing the trans around? My engine is on a stand right now, but the trans is taking up my atv jack.

After driving 1000 miles with no issue mechanically, averaged 29mpg, left it in CT with CFR for rust repair, pulled out the interior.- I agree about the being invisible thing, that's why I drove thru the night, less traffic to deal with, then back roads where the semis don't go so much.

Didn't really do anything for the cars this week, but built shelves so I can catalog and organize the engines, trannies, interiors and so on.
Finally found a use for all of Wifeys clear Tupperware totes. All the various sizes are great for storing the items, it also makes it easy to see whats in them without unloading half the bin just to figure out what you were hunting for wasn't there.

Nothing too major ... I took delivery of some interior door panels yesterday - much nicer condition than the ones that are currently in the 'BB'
Also received some other 914 parts recently that I've only been able to store on the shelves.
I finally finished sanding, cleaning and painting the 4th MBZ CLK forged alloy wheel on Monday. (I painted the other 3 wheels a year ago)
Click to view attachmentMounted and balanced a set of Yokahama Geolander (215/65-16) tires on them last night. (These are for 'Eileen', the Westy). I need to test fit them to see if I'll need wheel spacers (up front), then I can order longer lug bolts. I might need longer studs for the rears too (alloys are a little thicker than the stock steelies).
Hoping to get some free time soon, so I can finish up with the hydraulic clutch release system in the 'BB', and prepping Dianne's car for the body/paint shop
