I finally got around to replacing the bushing in my pedal cluster and the accelerator cable with a nice Terry unit. My car only has 68,000 miles on it and 4 of the bushing were just completely shot. Also changed the tranny oil.

On a side note, when I removed the pedal cluster, I was happy to see nice red paint and no signs of any rust.

A quick tip if you are doing this: remove the clutch cable pulley at the tranny first. This will give you plenty of slack when reattaching the end of the cable to the pedal cluster.

With my project car I finished removing the front suspension and got it up on the rotisserie. I'm in over my head, but I'm having fun.

Today I said goodbye to my friend. My V8 conversion left for Arizona to a new owner. I built her in just 6 months and let her go to roam the desert. However, I am in the market for a new roller and I want to do another V8 Conversion.

So long my friend... bye1.gif

Still plenty to do but this was a huge hurdle I was worried about for a long time. Got kinda sketchy when my floor jack started leaking while I was under the car trying to man handle it into position. beer.gif

Garold,

Start a project thread on the red Levitating project if you haven't already. I would love to see what you have in store.

Being that you put a 3.0 in your past race car I can only guess what mad creation you plan on bringing to life next.

Good Luck,

Pete

Did a little pre-spring cleaning at the shop today. In all my haste to get the 'BB' ready for the Route-66 Run, I left the shop in a mess with tools and supplies strewn all about the place.

Removed the vinyl and foam padding from my rear targa pad, going to try covering it with perlon carpet idea.gif

Also pulled some -4 rear hubs and cleaned them up ... anybody in the market for some good clean ones? confused24.gif

Changed out my fuel pump. While I was at it I relocated it. Figured the easiest place to get to it in the future was the rear wall of the engine bay. I moved the filter up there also and installed a PSi gauge. piratenanner.gif
Black914_4
Might have a problem................ huh.gif

The pump is kinda noisy. headbang.gif
Can't really hear it when motor is running (i do have a exhaust leak) But it is louder up top then it was under the car... I'll fix the leak and see how it sounds later on. Might have to move it if it's too loud after the car is fixed.

euro911
I'd move it up front, out of the engine bay, but if not, try mounting it with some rubber dampeners to take out some of the vibration (noise transfer) idea.gif

It has a rubber sleave around it. Was going to use a couple rubber washers also but couldn't find any. I know there are threads about putting it up front. But I didn't want to have to pull my fuel tank if I needed to work it was my train of thought. Just didn't concider the pump running noise. Right now it's only an issue when motor is off.

Blasted and sprayed my window regulators with cold galvanizing spray.
Cleaned up the headlight motors and di-electric greased all electrical points.

Getting as many sub-assemblies ready for my cars return from paint next week after being gone for almost 8 months! WTF!

Removed the PO's Porsche reflector between the rear tail lights and filled all the holes left behind. Enjoyed the sheet metal work to get it flat without bondo.

Instead of reinstalling a stock push button trunk release, created a custom stealthy trunk-release solution. No chrome wart sticking out the back, just an almost invisible key slot.

Replaced all the connectors on the motor controller, and took it for a fun drive. Sean got to drive it for a bit too, but nothing crazy. Yet.

I think I can burn rubber in first gear now. piratenanner.gif

Now if I could figure out why the coolant pump is shutting down after 5 seconds and restarting....
