Mine's been on jack stands too long waiting for a part... put it back together with 2 new rear wheel bearings and had it out for a test drive yesterday. No more growl! Success.

I got my parts person to find 1 part of 3 on my list. So wheel bearings are go now I need to find best value for money deal on pads and rear discs.

I also took off the passenger side rear trailing arm to examine the shaft in order to see what, if any damage there is, luckily the shaft looks really good so I'll order standard bushes for those, few quid saved.

Looking good! Curious, what are you going to use for engine management / ecu? I'm doing a subie swap into my off road car and Im kicking around a couple ideas, none are very cheap.

Nothings as cheep as the factory ecu. Especially when you factor in the price of a tuner. beerchug.gif

Purchased working setup from 914world member here on forum. ECU is a Stinger 4 from Outback. They provide a base map for getting Subaru swaps rolling so you are not starting from scratch. Lots of tuning features available in the software if you want to go deeper in engine mods (i.e turbo) which is in my radar. Pricey unit but impressive.

Elyut thought you might have worked on your 914 causing a quantum shift in the time/space continuum. Guess we all got worked up over nothing. happy11.gif

When will work resume on MY 912?

confused24.gif

At this rate, it may be ready in time for when I financially recover from Project 914 in 2028.

I have to bring some parts back to CA for Dianne's car, a well as some 356 & 911 parts that potential buyers are waiting for. I'll be perusing the shelf units for other pertinent Porsche items as well - and I'm sure there's some parts I've forgot to put on the list sad.gif

Should be back in CA by mid-December ... and ya know, I could use a hand with the 'BB' iffin you're in the hood poke.gif

We had nice weather today after rain yesterday in El Dorado Hills, CA. I installed 4 new plastic rollers on the driver's side window; adjusted the new weatherstripping around the driver's window so it "seals" better; replaced the door lock mechanism in the driver's door so it locks with the key and stays locked when the outside handle is pulled a few times (it previously would unlock itself after pulling the outside handle a few times!); remounted the driver's side rear view mirror so it is solid and doesn't vibrate when on the road. This old 1970 Porche 914 is getting there! Certainly runs great after the rebuilding the engine. Now I just need to clean up and mount the used Bursch exhaust I found.

I thought I'd share the unique PO temporary clutch tube firewall repair on Mike's car (Warpig).

Super In Law and I are designing a temporary firewall repair kit. Here's the first version of the weld in plate. We're also going to create a copper or aluminum sleeve to slide in the clutch while we're doing the welding, The plate will get a washer to weld to the tube for a stabilizer.

More to come later .................

euro911
When I had to replace my clutch cable, I found that the tube must have broken away from the bulkhead inside of the tunnel, although the tube appears normal at the engine bay's side of the bulkhead.

There is a dent in the center of the floor pan just forward of the bulkhead, so I'm suspecting that a PO ran over something (parking lot tire stop or something) that may have sheared off the tube unsure.gif

I installed Wilwood M/C & slave cylinders and threaded a hydraulic hose through the bulkhead, so I'm not too concerned about it, but maybe I'll cut that section of the floor pan out to investigate/repair some day, just to see what happened anyway confused24.gif

Been busy. Out with the old seals, in with the new.
New paint, new wheels. Taking care of some bad connections in the turn signal lights, and maybe creating some gremlins (is it SOP for the turn signals, when key is off to power the respective running light?) I’ll deal with that in a thread.

Also taking care of a bad trunk hinge and roller.
Updates as it’s more completed.
