Today I pulled down parts for my V8 car that where packed from my move 3 years ago. Lots of great stuff that I had not seen for some time. The covers for the rear trunk and cover for raised area above the hydraulic clutch cylinder on my 930 4 speed Trans. Back to work on this baby.

I never want to have so much stuff that I need a forklift! hahaha

I reset the valves on cylinders 1&2 after replacing a pushrod tube seal. Hopefully no more leaks especially from that freaking rocker cover!

Finally got around to stripping the master cylinder for inspection. No rust at all inside means i can buy a rebuild kit and not an expensive replacement. smile.gif

I have the same problem! My garage looks like a UPS warehouse at Christmas time.

Drove my 914-6 from the storage unit to it's new home on my property, just got done with the barn doors. It's around 60 degrees here in Northern California today, took my son for a spirited drive on some back roads to get all oil nice and warm...been sitting for way too long.

15 x 8 feet, just big enough for the 914 but small enough that no building permit was required :-)

The custom brackets I pulled out of a nice 74 car that I bought from Army Dude with the V8 set up with 930 trans. I cut the 14 x 14 opening and made a riser to clear the hump on the 930 flip trans and the hydraulic slave cylinder. I got trunk sheet metal so I could make the covers as they had to be bigger than the pieces cut out of original rear trunk (metal from Bruce Stone) I wanted a rear trunk and not just an open area where the trunk are on a stock car. I will mount my 5 lug Fucks with space saver over the lid if I can still put the top in.

I bought a nicely priced set of early bumpers recently, mainly for the rear blade. My son picked them up in L.A. for me and the rubber tops that came along with them were in great shape. Really a pleasant surprise. I installed the front top yesterday and painted the un-cracked grilles that came with the front bumper. The plastic chrome was pretty dead, so I shot some satin black on them....it's different?

Sold my Boxster S 6 speed transmission along with the LS engine adapter parts. Sold for what I paid for plus shipping so no money made, but no money lost which is nice for a change.

Putting money right back to paypal and avoiding buying goods for the 914.

Yes it went to a fellow 914World member.

The black grilles look great, Goob ... adds some contrast cool_shades.gif

The 'BB' came with back-dated, dented gloss black bumpers when I acquired it. The PO also painted the [non-fog] grilles with the same gloss black, but they were prepped improperly and the paint was cracking off, so I blasted & painted the grilles silver for contrast.

A few years later, I installed some small Pilot driving lights and the chrome bumpers from the '71, and reused the same grilles, but thought about repainting them black.

I do have a few sets of restored fog/driving lights, and a couple pair of xlnt OEM chrome fog light grilles, so I'll probably install that setup when the more important tasks are completed.

We just transplanted that big saguaro and since it doesn't have much in the way of a root system it needs support for a year or so so it doesn't fall over. They are VERY heavy and if it did fall over the driveway there is no way a couple of people can move it!!

I am excited that I have finally earned the right to post on this thread: my first mod without assistance (other than advice from 914World members)

I replaced my wobbly old hex bar linkage with a CSP linkage. I have Dellortos, and I used the kit for Weber IDFs. The instructions for Weber were slightly wrong for Dellortos and there was one extra piece I didn't seem to need.

In the process I pulled the carbs off the manifold for the first time and noticed that the vacuum ports were wide open, not internally sealed as I thought. Discussed with previous owner, who had no idea it was like that. Current plan is to connect them to the 123 distributor and experiment with vacuum advance.

Working on my V8 /930 Trans set up in my no rust 74 Blue car. It has been a long time but I got the body back at a 90 to the concrete and worked the plate where the Willwood peddles and short Willwood masters mount to and had to refit the holes (file them open to fit) . The set up is Duel masters for the Boxster brakes and one master for the 930 Turbo trans. Next up it to break out my welder and try not to get burned. I have had this project for 10 years or so. Time to get back on it.

I want to thank some of the guys that do not post anymore for helping me with ideas on my car. The 914World members are the best.

I got around to emptying all old and new brake fluid out of the system and replaced the master cylinder. I've got pressure in the pedal and holds it but i'm going to bleed through another 500ml and see how it feels then.

I also replaced the leaking push rod tube seal and hopefully the rocker cover seal will also stop leaking headbang.gif

Finally straightened and rewelded the exhaust heat shield.

Put in an order for a set of trumpets for the idfs at last, tight fisted s o b!

Now looking for a set of and style of wheels that i'm happy with.

Here is where we are going. I am happy to have my trusty assist Albert. The truth is at 65 I need some help with odd fitting to work on my cars with me. It works much better with someone to help. He looks out for the odd spark from my welding so we do not burn down the building. Bending is not my big suit anymore. It used to be I could hang upside down and turn a wench. Been doing that from 16 on. Time takes its toll.

Fitting in the pedals and welding the steel because it needed to be longer. Rather than drill all the holes in new metal I lengthened it by ½ inch. Just ran out of welding wire so I have to wait for a couple of days for Amazon to drop it off.

So the triple Master cylinders will clear the rack this is where I need to be. Short Wilwoods

Tired of cleaning the darn /4 case .... so time to start putting this puppy together. Found a spot in the garage to mount the holder.

Now to find all the parts that go into it!
