1975 - 2.0 -FI - Stock

This car came from the PO with no Decel Valve...All the vacuum ports are plugged...It ran OK before the engine rebuild but now I am having a hell of a time with idle and decel...

What does this thing do, exactly...I assume they are all the same, 1.7, 1.8, 2.0 ....

not needed. it smoothes the transition from higher rpm to idle on decel ...

without it, you get a more instant drop in rpm, kinda like a lightened flywheel.

i ran my 1.8L without decel valve and without AAR. all unneeded ports were plugged.
ran great, no problem with idle etc ...

It runs air around the throttle, from air cleaner to plenium, when the buterfly valve slams shut, allowing air to enter, dilute fuel mixture and lowering vacuum. (I think)

probably not needed, unless your trying to pass smog...

What is AAR?

Auxiliary Air Regulator
bypasses cold air into the throttlebody when the car is cold, helps with cold-start.

i never missed it here in CA, but i'm sure the guys in canada won't run without it.
