Not an endorsement of the seller or vehicle...just a very clear illustration technique. You can really see the condition and cleanliness level of a car this way.
What is this door bell-thingy in the engine bay?

It helps that its a very clean car..
Could that doorbell thing be an early attempt at an alarm?

I was thinking Ice Cream truck car. You could fit a lot of popsicles in the front and rear trunk.

One of the strangest things I've ever seen inside an engine bay. An alarm for sure!

Looks like a low oil pressure alarm like is used on big diesel engines

I vote for "alarm". I'm the second owner of a 76 930, and it came with a similar device bolted to the firewall. It's actually quite fun -- the door trigger is "armed", and when activated, the bell sounds like a school bell.

I hate that steering wheel, but it looks like a pretty nice car otherwise.
The best way to sell a car online is exactly like that. Full disclosure and LOTS O PICS!

I always have a problem with "certified pre-owned" Its USED.
Please watch from 1:48 for my opinion on this concept. Foul language
Have to like the pictures they posted. It sure would help if every 914 for sale had pictures like this. I love the ones you see where they are clearly hiding something.

I wondered what the hell that was and I am glad I am not the only one who thought it looked like a school bell!

Awesome car. You would have to leave the bell in it.

No hell hole pics. My '75 is not too far off the condition of this car in most regards, but the hell hole is shot. I agree with all of the above - this is a very nice car, and the seller has done a great job. Just saying that a car can look this good and still have a rust problem.

A great looking car, and an even better advertisement for our 914s.
The person that did this ad has real talent, I see why this caught your eye Jeff.
