Same size as a VW beetle type 1 engine, they have 2 gaskets one real thin (.010" pump to cover) and one a bit thicker (pump to block).
Both should work, but the thicker one would be the more correct for a type 4 pump.
One of the few places I use RTV, just a tiny bit between your fingers smeared into the gasket, absolutely no excess RTV on the gasket.
