You cannot attach an image to a PM except via an image location link.
But if you really wanted to improve the PM system I would suggest adding a "Reply All" button.

If you have one of those "photo bucket" type accounts then you can leave your images there and then link to them that way.
Or you could post them in your blog and set it as private and then link to them?
Edit: Nevermind aboot having a private blog, that is not currently an allowable setting.
