What number or type of brake fluid does the 914 use. He's mentioning a 3 or 4??
I'm just wanting to double check, as my mechanic is putting in the rebuilt calipers.

Either, dot 4 just has a higher boiling point, which is good if you AX or race.

Yes 3 and 4 will mix. Don't use 5.0 as it is silicon based. We sell the ATE Blue and 2000 but for most street driven cars that see an occasional autocross, I really recommend the Castrol GTX from your FLAPS. Change it often and you'll never need me to fix your calipers. A take on the old Fram commercial; "Pay me now or pay me later."
