When you get that close to a sighting, take a pic of the VIN or write it down, I do both. With the VIN you can see if it's in the database and determine who owns ( or owned) the car.

Nice after market Door guards. They were still in use in the 80s as an aluminum channel that has a urethane insert. Usually riveted to the body. I prefer mine naked.

Yeah I had those door guards (riveted) on my car before the repaint.
