Hello folks,

I already rebuild my 914-6 fuel pump and was thinking about the difference to a 914-4 pump. I know carburetor and injection system really differs and requieres a different line pressure. But which parts of the pump interchangeable?

I haven't done it, but my thought would be that the head of the pump would be different (line pressure regulation). The rest of the parts would be the same.

The pump housing in the last picture looks different; I remember the -4 pump having a square outer shape. The recess where the rotor and discs live appears to be smaller on the pump shown above as well.

That and the 914/4 pump has limited availablity. The 914/6 pump is disappeared into the world of unobtanium.

The pump number he listed 0 580 960 009 has the following applications:

'69 - '72 VW Porsche 914/6

'69 - '71 Porsche 911T 2.2 engines 911/03 & 06
'71 - '73 Porsche 911TV 2.3 engines 911/57 & 67

Porsche Part # 911 608 107 00

The 0 580 463 009 is the 914 pump and is superceeded by 0 580 463 005.

Between the body of the pump and the head is a square aluminum spacer. The actual head of the body is round as in the images.

And if one had a functional #580 960 009 any guesses as to what the value would be?
