Well, actually, I just laughed...
"Divorce forces sale. This is the real deal. PORSCHE 914 2.0
not some 1.8 with a bus motor. This is a nice driver..."

man, that wing alone must be worth it! of course, because it doesn't have some bus engine pushing it, it needs those massive downforces!
makes me want to grow a mullet, i tell you.

Easy now Shane, someone on this board has one of those rear wings, but then he has a V8, he probably needs the massive downforce.

What!? He's dissing my old bus!
JK,
Most of the busses were 2.0. Just had different (weak) heads.

my wife won't even allow me to entertain the idea in jest!
and a V8 would need something back there, Craig. only little "bus engines" wouldn't!

I used to have one of those spoilers. "Turbo Tail" I think. Back when spoilers were all the rage. I was trying to make people think I had the real Porsche with the 2.0, and not "some Bus motor".

Yea, the back seats don't get used much so they're still in good shape.

my guess is, it's the same way Webers made it onto a '76...
i have an inquiry email into the seller asking the VIN - which is conspicuously missing from this listing ...

Wow I've never seen an early car that had a later bumper on it, but that appears to be the case. The front bumper looks like it's not attached too well and that is probably because it is missing the tabs on the sides that help hold those beautiful fat black plastic things on. Check the passenger side view pic.

'75 1.8 (not a bus motor)

could those be tinted opera windows in the targa bar? sweeeet... why didn't i think of that? <_<

Hey! My car has one of those big giant whale tail spoilers on it. Something I inherited from the PO. Can't take it off yet cause I'm not ready to address the rust issue I'm sure it's created.

I do like the color though, and all of the "accessories" could be taken off. If it's rust free that might be a good deal @ $2500 for someone who has some parts laying around. Too bad I'm so far away, I have a rear lid, correct black bumper and some nice seats...
I would most definitely look under that front bumper for damage though. Or look at it from inside the trunk.
The round objects look like stickers. C'mon Kevin, you know that adds horsepower!

Hey I don't get it. Just got rid of the wife. (or the other way around) so why do you need to dump a 1500 dollar car.
POS don't run and needs alot of work and I can't see sticking al that money into it. That is what I read.

I agree with Joe, being single, this guy will have a lot more time to work on his car and will need it to pick-up chicks.

i inquired on the VIN, seller says it's 474291nnnn.
(he gave me the full number, but the year portion is the only significant part to this thread...)
so - if i still remember how to decods /4 VIN's - it actually is a '74, bumpers or no.

Speaking as a divorced guy, long ago, he should keep the car... Chick, er female, magnet, course he'd have to loose the seat covers, blows the image.

I think his wife initially got together with him because he drove a Porsche. Then, one day at work, she was bragging about how her husband has a Porsche, and the words "bus motor" came up. Divorce papers were filed shortly thereafter...

Good one Thomas!
Or maybe she was poking around and noticed all of the VW logos on the car and was like, "What the hell is this!? A NARP!? DAMN YOU!!!!!"
