Split the case for the start of my 2056 build and noticed somethings that I was wondering if were normal since this is the first engine I have ever dismantled.
There are several areas that have what appears to be tool chatter marks like a rotatry tool was used on corners of the casting.
There looks to be some cracks or casting lines above where the ditributor drive slides in.
And the relief areas below the crank bearings is this machined in for clearance or was there an end play issue on the crank.
There are also area where there are metal burrs and nicks.

Norman, normal, normal and normal.

Yeah, they will have some nasty burrs. Bus engines, the finish is not as nice as 914 engines. They're grayer instead of shiny and seem to have more wrinkles, burrs, and casting lines, though 914 cases have all that too, just less.

Yep, all normal. Clean and buff all that upon reassembly
