I have an extra set of fuchs for my racer but when I bought them from the PO, I just put them all in storage and didnt look closely.
Now I go to get them out to clean up and mount tires, and ONE of the three has black paint in the usual places.

How can I strip that paint to match the other three without ruining the factory finish?

On my first 914 I thought I was being cool by power wire brushing & polishing the wheels.
That looked great for about the first year until they oxidized and turned mostly black.

So how do I "restore" this one wheel without having to do them all?
The other three look great.

Try Soda!

Try a small area with the orange stripper. Stuff is fairly mild.

Try acetone on a soft cloth & lotsa patience & gentle rubbing. Then just clean & light polish it along with the other 3 & they should all look close.

I did that on one of my Fuchs & also removed 4 oversprays on my VIN sticker.

If you let the acetone sit for a minute or two, then the paint may bubble up to make it easier (depends on paint type).
