All of the recent talk about CVs had me thinking when I saw this picture.

Would be great to help stop "slinging" grease if the cap flanged back over the CV joint. I've always dreaded working on CVs at the engine or axle end and getting grease over everything.

The picture is from a 993 turbo front suspension. Anybody have any ideas where to source something like this for our size CVs? You could obviously still use a gasket but do you think this would work? Of course you would have holes for the roll pins, too.

I'm no expert but I don't think there is room in our assemblies for this type of cap.

If the boots are intact and the gasket is used, it shouldn't sling grease.
