How come some of these index searches turn up parts that are...just plain wrong?

Look for a radiator. A number of places list those.

Oh please look for the cheapest master cylinder you can find for the Darwin awards in the other thread. lol3.gif

That 'Darwin' thread is what 'inspired' me to look over there...I have never shopped/purchased at these types of places and won't. What the eyes see they cannot forget...Gaaahhhhhh....

Actually the original 70s-80s Chilton shop manual for the 914 included a radiator/coolant section! lol-2.gif

... their other Chilton manuals were equally useless generic POS's as well! dry.gif

That's how I knew not to waste my money on it, and I got the Haynes 914 manual! shades.gif
