I am all set up with the dial. I can do some light prying to get the flywheel away from the case. How about pushing in. Since the fan housing is on the other end, it is difficult to move it toward the case.

Truthfully I get 0.0035" just pushing and pulling with my hands. Is that all the pressure I need?

Thanks,

Clark

Yup. There isn't a need to apply a large amount of force. As long as you're getting repeatable numbers.

FOLLOW-UP questions:
1. Should repeatable be different places on the flywheel, rotating the engine, or both?

2. I am in spec, but would less be better? Maybe swap one 30 shim for a 34?

What you have is perfect. .003"-.005" is the target (the closer to .003 the better) and you're already on the small end of the scale.
