How about 914 Emergency bags for the club? Like this...
Store your extra parts in it.
Store your helmet and nomex suit in it.
Store your roadside emergency kit in it.
Use it as a gym bag.
Use it as a overnight bag.
Store your unused resumes in it.
Store duct tape and plastic in it.

Now that I like.
That's what the factory could have offered as factory matching luggage for the 914.

May 3 2003, 09:47 PM
yeah, with enough room for all those big tools and with little pockets on the side, so you can carry all you need for your 914 roadtrip (or commute).
you know, like spare fuses, flashlight, carb-cleaner, duct-tape, road-flares etc.
plus a notepad with important numbers, like AAA or for Bay Area people, Brad's Cell Number ...
haha,

Notepad! hell, I live is Seattle and I still have Brad number on speed dial on the cell phone. Figure if I break down maybe he will drive up and come rescue me too.
Geoff
These bags are pretty affordable but I would need to order atleast 25. If you want them lets roll!

I'm seriously with Andy on this. I'll take one as my 914 tool bag / survival kit.

What so you can carry coolant in it? Why don't you use a turbo rotary motor for your swap? Atleast 275hp to the rear wheels. I didn't know you were going to water Jon, otherwise I would have talked motor swap with you too. Next time speak up! I wouldn't hit you because you are crossing over to the darkside.
Now we just need to agree on the color of the bags and the logo design. That should only take 4 weeks. I don't want a black and yellow bag that's for sure!

I like the rotary engines, my brother has a '93 RX-7 TT. I'm just curious how these Subaru motors go together and hold up so I'm going that route. If it doesn't work out the car will be all setup for any other motor including a V8!!

I have three toolbags - but maybe I could use it as an overnight/gymn bag.
Depending on price, size, etc... count me in.

instead of compac will they have the same logo as the sticker? one color only?

Same logo colors as the sticker and the 2 colors of the bags would be either black or khaki. Price would be about $20 +or- each to deliver them to you. I would need 20 orders to go thru with it. I don't think Brad or I can afford to sit on a bunch of bags.
The stickers cost me enough as is.

Khaki, for me, please.
At that price, count me in.

Put me down for one. I'd vote for black rather than khaki, but either is fine.

So we are at 10 pre-ordered now, I've got to get closer to 20 to order these bad boys so speak up gents and ladies!
This is the prefect bag to hold all the doggies travel toys, Jenny.

Just order them. If we have leftovers we'll send them to lucky club members and bill them
(we should have this clause in the club bylaws)

Hey.. just a suggestion.
Can we factor into the price... 3 extra bags for donation to the Rambles?
One for the WCW, MUSR and ECR as door prizes? That would be some good exposure for the club.
I'd be willing to pay a dollar extra for that.

The color will be black or khaki.
Rusty, that should be fine. I was trying to get 20 sold then we could send some out to events as prizes. I far as I am concerned this will be a one time deal.
I am also waiting for Sean to get back so he can resize the grahics for the bags, then things will move along.
Maybe one bag should go to Brad so he has something to keep his stuff in too.
Geoff

May 5 2003, 10:05 AM
If this is gonna be a one-shot deal, put me down for a third. I'd also pitch in to donate at the Rambles. You might save one for the 2003 Wramble too.
Gint
May 5 2003, 10:42 AM
OK. Put me down for two then instead of just one. And I'll pitch in for Ramble units as well.
Bleyseng
May 5 2003, 10:47 AM
One shot deal because this is a non profit club and I nor Brad can afford to sit on a bunch of bags, hats and other goodies. The stickers still have to be sold too.
I wish I had deeper pockets....but I have already blown my yearly car budget on upgrades for AXing.
Maybe if we allowed popup advertising for all kinds of trips, weight loss, car parts porno sites we could afford it. Nahh, that would suck big time.

Sign me up for two, one in each color if choices are possible. I'll use one as a Beagle bag, and one as a car bag.
By the way, the sticker kicks ass. I can't wait to have a running 914 to put it on.

Once you have a mockup you should get some more orders.
When I first read this post there wasn't any mention of a price (till half way down the page), so when you have that confirmed also you might get some more tire kickers to join in.

Any idea what the dimensions are?
Size will determine quantity that I order (bigger=more).
What do you want for the art?
same design as sticker, variation...let me know.

Since I didn't specify, could you make all 3 of mine black? Thanks.

Lookin at 2 sizes:
7519 19"W x 11"H x 10"D
7524 24.5"W x 12"H x 11"D
I have asked what size the logo can be.

If it's cheaper/easier to do a run of a single color - that's okay with me. I'd be alright with black. Burgundy might be nice. Or metallic cobalt blue.

May 5 2003, 06:42 PM
Cool, those are both good sizes.
Black, while boring, stays clean.
Kahki is better looking, but will show dirt.
Are there any other options? (just asking)
I don't have either photoshop of illustrator on the notebook that I bought last week and am returning when I get home.
Battery only gives 30-45 minutes of power.
If I can't watch a movie on a plane a notebook is useless!

May 5 2003, 06:43 PM
I am waiting for answers back on these questions. There are a few other colors, Sean.
Damn Sean, I get almost 2hrs out of my Dell notebook on the plane. Hey, I can mail you a sticker so you look cool driving home. Whats the address?

The battery life sucks. It's a P4 2.8 desktop processor and 16" display. My brother has one from the HP line, this is Compaq and it sucks, too. I used to get 2.5 - 3 hours on my Quantex and 2 hours on my Gateway.
I'm leaning towards the Dell with the 16x10 aspect ratio screens. They have up to 1920x1200 resolution, which is perfect for doing HD stuff.
Thanks for the sticker. I'll put it on and post a pic before I leave!

I need to do more and more editing on-site so a high horsepower box makes my life easy.
That way I don't have to ship my desktop out so much.
I don't mind a bigger size, I just need a battery that functions like the rest of the box!
You'd think they would have addressed that issue!
