With stick injection and bore/stroke? ~100
Stock injection and stroke, bore to 2056cc: ~115
Stock stroke, bore 2056, carbs or EFI: ~120 - 140

The stock injection required a stock or damn near stock cam.

a 140hp 2.0 is a PITA to drive on the street

John at black forest got 180 w carbs. very narrow power band

A 2056 w/stock Djet and raby cam makes 115 to 120hp. With shorter 3rd and 4th gears is a blast to drive on the street and crazy quick.

How fast do you want to go on the street? confused24.gif

You have to use a cam that gives a narrower power band, with the power at the top end. Need to build an engine with a higher rev-range then stock and better heads then stock.

Jake had a combo that was street drivable with 140, but it was similar in price to a 2270. And at that point, why on earth do the 2.0 140?!

If you are not using stock injection, shoot for ~120 hp from a 1911 or 2056. In a 914, 120hp is a lot of fun, but on the freeway you can still be passed by minivans at will. A small motor 914 is a back roads car, not a freeway bandit.

I have a 2056 combo that makes 170HP with 140 lb/ft of torque. It does not have a narrow power band, and is perfectly fine on the street running on pump gas. It does make peak power at 7,500 RPM but the torque is flat from 3500-6500 so it still has great manners with the combo I created for it.

Unfortunately it costs MORE than a 2270 that makes the same HP but 180 lb/ft of torque. These days the 2270 is the only combinations we are offering because it does EVERYTHING very well.
