Back in 2003 a few real 1971 914-6's were For-Sale locally that today would be a real bargin. At the time I didn't think the cars were worth the money?? Dumb move hissyfit.gif I should have pulled the trigger.

The best thing about the Yellow one was the wheels - by the time you got done fixing ( Rust repair, Paint, Interior, Motor rebuild) it you would be where the market is now

Ha ha !

"Should of, would of, Could of"

I passed so many great cars as recent as 2004 that have gone way way up ! headbang.gif

My dad sold his 56 Speedster back in 79 for 10 grand, and was ecstatic he more than doubled his money !! headbang.gif

I am not so sure I would want a Michigan 914 six or not. That is one corrosive state !

Heck I was happy when I sold my 69 911S for $10,500 & made $300 headbang.gif

A few years later I found another S for $4500, made the mistake of talking about before I could get the Money and had it ripped out from under me

It is a challenge on when to do the purchase. I know that 4 years ago I paid too much for mine and had people laughing on what I paid. I have had to leave it sitting for 4 years to actually get the pennies and funds to paint and finish it. In that time, I looks like the value has risen to where I could break even if I were to sell.

But when it is done, why the hell would I sell?

Even at prices today, it appears one can buy and hold for another 6 years to gather a profit. Patience and storage location is all that is needed I suppose.

I paid $8500 for my 6. I believe that was in 2003-ish. I'll have to look.

$13,500 for mine in 2/2010. I feel lucky to have it.

Is it even LEGAL to be in your family without a -6??? If you were to ever sell, you'd have to change families. . . poke.gif

I have my Dad's -6 he paid 3250 for it in 75. My Dad also bought a 58 speedster for 1800 and sold it for 2650.

I got married back in 98 and Lord only knows how far I'm in the hole.... blink.gif

My regret is not buying a six when I thought 10-15 was too much. So what, I would enjoy a decent 3.0 conversion more any way. chowtime.gif
