Shipment schedule:
I'm currently overwhelmed by the amount of orders. I only expect a few. I have to order materials and manufacture all the orders but I'm traveling on the week of March 11, including both weekend so I expect to have some ready and shipped before that but the majority will probably be ready by March 25.
Group Buy is now closed.
If you're on this thread and didn't get my PM or didn't send PayPal yet, please do so until Tuesday so I know how much materials to order.
Now I have a lot of clocks to make

About double what the Doc was offering at the bath house.
I'll take one without the "914" on it if you can do it. Maybe two...
I just think it would look cleaner and I already know what a 914 looks like.

I'd like one as well, without the '914' lettering, please (my other cars would sue me for preferential treatment)

Wow, didn't expected such a demand!
I'm going to offer the clock with or without the "914" on it. If there's going to be a popular demand for some other modification, I can try to do that as well but, I can't individually customize the design.
I'm also going to reduce the spacing between the numbers, to match the writing on the speedo.
Postage will be $6.30 for Priority Mail (parcel post is $5.70 so I won't bother)
I'm going to wait till Monday (3/5/12) for the final count and then PM everyone in the thread with asking for details (which version, shipping address, paypal)
If someone wants a set of my seat-belt labels as well ($4), let me know at that time too.
EDIT:
For those asking to lower the 914 to the middle, please trust me on this. Middle is exactly in line with the 10-2 line. I initially tried that and it really doesn't look good there as it visually blends as "10 914 2", although the fonts are different. Please trust me on this one.

Not THAT funny
Would there be interest in a clock "sans 914" but with a "6" redline....?
I'm assuming it is doable
I'd be in on that....
Cairo94507
Mar 1 2012, 06:35 PM
Not sure how many would be interested in the 914-6 version but it would have to have a higher redline 6,500 as well. I would be willing to pay extra for a personalized six clock.
I have a wiener dog clock in my office
Click to view attachmentbut would definitely add the 914-6 clock.

I guess if the 914-6 didn't fit

Mar 2 2012, 05:14 PM
I know you don't want to customize
I'd be really interested in the higher redline (no 914 on it either) model
I'd be most interested with a redline of 8K since that is my race cars max..
or something close to 8K since you don't (understandably) want to customize a million versions. (I could live with 7600 rpm)

I'll take one without the 914. There is someone selling clocks similar to these, I bought one at a small shop in Carmel, CA when I went to Rennsport last October. They are made in England and have a square outer frame.
No logo would also get great interest from the 911 crowd.

Due to somehow popular demand, I'm willing to consider a higher redline. The problem is that there is no consensus on how high and this is one of the most difficult customization for me.
How about I make one with the 914-6 recline at 6300 like in this picture.
http://www.p914.com/p914-6_gauges_tach-front.htm I'm willing to entertain suggestions but there must be consensus on the number.

Mar 2 2012, 05:49 PM
since higher is more cool....
(bigger is always better... stock cars are slow)
is anyone willing to go above 6300 (stock) ?
I will bet we could find a bunch of guys willing to go into the 7K range..
7500 is a cool number... how about it?

OK, so I am in for the 914-6 redline (6,300) without the 914-6 on the clock. Hope that ends up working out.

I would like ,, no logo, no redline. Factory 10K tachs have no redline.
A fellow on 911s registry in the UK made some Dutray Lemans Clocks from IKEA clocks and sold a ton of them,, I bought 2.

I was thinking the same thing as I saw the redline debate going all over the map.
maybe one without and call it good or include a redline sticker and the owner could opt. for putting where they would like.
