1973 PORSCHE 914/6 TRACK/SHOW - $55000 (OBO...)

built from a 1973 1.7 914 rather then modify a 914/6...

Porsche should have continued the linage of the 914 to it's ultimate possibilities the way they did w/ the 911 -- from concept ( 63 911 2.0 litre to 98 turbo), as such we built our conception of what the 914 could have become w/ technology and time.
high compression European 3.2 w/ motronic injection, modified computer chip, tuned & "jetcoated" headers to stainless "sport" tuned exhaust muffler w/ centered dual stainless exhaust tips, 60% black satin powdercoated steel engine sheetmetal.

all new Clutch plate, pressure plate & flywheel & clutch cable.

Transmission: late 915 w "flipped" limited slip differential & converted to "Velios"side shift 916 type w/ short shift 915 shift tower.

Cooling system: engine to high pressure stainless oil line to aftermarket oil thermostat thru passenger steel side rocker panel thru passenger wheel well & into tub-under fuel cell and into metal finished steel trunk box w/ open "gill" vented for cooling & into high volume oil cooler then out & back thru tub thru thermostat and into factory 914/6 steel oil tank.

Suspension: front- 85 Carrera rack (powdercoated- satin black) w/ 23mm Sway-A- WAY gun-drilled torsion bars, bronze torsion arm bushings, turbo tie rods, Bilstien "sport" struts, gun-drilled thru tub 35mm multi-link "Smart" sway bar, rear: (powder coated) steel plate reinforced trailing arms, steel plate reinforced T-arm mounting points w/ nylon bushings, Bilstien "gas valved" rear struts w/ 350 pound coil springs- no rear sway bar necessary)

Wheels and tires: Front- fuchs 8 by 16 polished alloys w/ ZR rated Bridgestones- back- fuchs 10 by 16 polished alloys w/ ZR rated Bridgestones.

Exterior modifications: factory 930 turbo steel front & back fender flares fitted & curve extended & metal finished, steel front 914 valance modified w/ "in" vent gill (for oil cooler) & edge flared to blend w/ front turbo fenders, steel 1/8 in. side rockers panels blending front flares to rear flares, rear steel valance extended and shaped to fit width of rear steel turbo flares & center shaped to fit center dual tip stainless exhaust, later RS light weight left and right non- electric mirrors, all trim & molding stripped and 2 stage powder coated (base chrome silver w/ 2nd coat clear) all new rubber seals installed- doors-windows-trunks etc., all new felt runners for windows.

Chassis/tub reinforcements: steel plate reinforced stress points in rear fender well walls and at trailing arm mount points and 1&1/2 - 1/8 in. gauge steel tubing from top of rear shock towers (in rear trunk) to trunk floor above transaxle mount points, same tubing (lower engine/trans area ) from trailing arm mounting point to transaxle mounting point, (these modifications are necessary to handle the increase of torque and horsepower from the original 1.7 to the present 3.2), steel metal finished oil cooler box fitted in front trunk compartment w/ in-let and under belly outlet (most conversions use fiberglass rough fitted and riveted box's), complete undercarriage stripped of paint and undercoating, prepped- etched primered and seam sealed, factory undercoating applied then painted in factory "boxster" option- silver metallic 2 stage glasso solvent based paint.

Interior: small diameter thick gauge chromolly full cage 6 point mounted rollbar w/ 2 stage silver powdercoat finish mounted w/ polished stainless allen bolts, new dash w/ powdercoated gauge face plate and dash face, modified center council w/ additional factory 911 gauges mounted in silver powdercoated face plate, fire system & ignition kill pulls attached to side mount, door panels modified to RS look w/ RS door release pulls, Boxster late model windshield mounted mirror, Porsche silver weave (black w/ gray fibers) carpeting cut and fitted over sound deadening padding, Sparko Evo 2 racing seats in Black w/ Sparko blue 5 point harness's w/ quick release latches,
