What is difference?

Rear reds vs my OEM boges, can i tell?
ChrisReale
Koni reds are an upgrade from the stock Boges. Stiffer rebound. The reds are adjustable, but you need to do iyt on the actual shock, where as the yellows can be adjusted via a knob that you are supplied with.

ok if the new reds are externally adjustable. What are the differences between the yellows and the reds?
ChrisReale
I'll let Aaron answer this one because he is such a know-it-all : laugh.gif . If we were talking about the old ones, the yellows were a bit stiffer, hence the "sport" nomination

yellows can be adjusted to a far greater treshold of stiffness. thanks chris wink.gif

There's a chart on the Koni site that shows the relative dampening range of the reds and yellows. Basically the yellows start at about the middle of the adjustment range of the Reds.

I thought the Red rear shocks were still not externally adjustable. Correct?

Nope,

My rear reds are adjustable.

agree.gif My reds, front and rear, are also adjustable in place by turning the removable adjustment knob at the top of the shock.

The comparison of red and yellows may be irrelevant, since it appears that reds are no longer being offered.

BTW, If you're changing out original Boges, which are now 30 years old, you will love either reds or yellows! Or any new shock for that matter! Well, maybe not kill-your-backs (KYBs) according to some posts. laugh.gif

externally adj red rears are nla. internally adj can be rebuilt for about the same price as new yellows.

I just got an email from Performance. They are having a 25% off sale on Koni and Bilstein products. Just for a quick comparison I priced rear Koni Reds for my 911 and the price was $200 ($40 less than Paragon who ususally has the best Koni prices).

Ahhhhh Bullshit,

The "old like me" old Koni Reds, were "collapse to adjust". You had to push the rod all the way in and turn it. Made tuning at the track a bit difficult. This is for both front and rears.

The "new" like you whippersnappers are externally adjustable. Because you are lazy asses, they put a knob on them that you can play with between runs.

Next thing you know, you'll be demanding a "cockpit adjustable" because ya think yer all F1 drivers and need active suspension with computer control. I'll just call you Michael "Loser" Andretti.

Grumble, grumble - Ok Aaron, take your shot
