I had gotten an unmarried Cobb Port for the Subie, but for the time being to have my mechanic take a glance at it, the CD that came with it, he put it in the computer, but was not sure how to open it up. I put it in my computer and right clicked on CD Rom and a bunch of stuff that I am not familiar with is there and one says Map Manager. I am not knowledgeable on how to do that. How does putting that CD in the computer get transferred to that device that hooks up to the computer on the car? He was wondering what program to open it up with?

I see the folder with 2004 WRX on it, but are other years and letters behind the year and a map manager and AP user guide., etc.

Any advice on the sequence to use it?

In general I'd check over at nasioc for subaru answers, especially in this case...
here is what i could find on it, I'm sure there is more info out there.

From Nasioc:

"Ok, finally received my COBB AP so here we go.

I recieved the COBB and the disk was not in the package, nor the cable to hook the AP up to the computer. Neither are big deals. Went to COBBs site for the AP Manager, downloaded pretty quickly, then grabbed a wire from my PS3 remote. Solved.

While on COBBs site, I downloaded the Stage 1+ with AEM and also the Economy Map. This week I will be using the Stage 1 with AEM map, after the track I will try the Economy Map out also."

here is the download/support site:

I noticed that same post and did put a post asking for some information but no responses back yet.

Maybe I should just email Cobb Port and skip all the theatrics.......

You do not need the computer program unless you plan to install new tunes in the access port.

I am running Cobb on my Subaru right now. There is no reason to run stage one if you are catless and 2.5" to 3" exhaust after the turbo. Stage 2 off the shelf map is OK, but the real money is a dyno tune or contact a Subaru tuner, and have him sell you a tune from a car that has smilar mods as your motor.
