I am planning to cut the jack point just 1/2" below the square tube and back to about 2" past the rear hole and about 1/2" forward of the Jack point joint.
The H3ll hole I think I will clean up and just overlap some sheet metal (weld).

Full Version: Rust how far to go?
Here are some pictures. Tried to find some post with repair pictures and failed miserably.

As a starting point, hit that entire area hard with a big screwdriver like Norman Bates in "Psycho." This should give you a rough idea. After that, cut some of the bad metal out and inspect with a flashlight and mirror in the long.
