Jawja,
They were sold by the Porsche+Audi dealers back in the day, as were the AMCO cloisonne licensed Porsche Crest & shift pattern shift knobs in Walnut & Leatherette covered .... at a significant mark-up to the $5 which you could mail order them directly from AMCO (I have an old 73 magazine with that ad in it somewhere).
Jeff Bowlsby has an excellent listing of the accessories available for 914s back in the 70's, as well as a bunch of other great info at his website:

^ the ad in my magazine is more generic for many makes' crests. My 73 2L had the AMCO leatherette wrapped Porsche crest shift knob on it when I bought it in late 75, which the OO/PO had gotten at the selling dealer, & you you see them on a lot of 356 > 911/912 & newer P-cars.
I've always liked it much better than the OEM knob, but need to find a new NOS one for my resto.
