I have never heard of these: Porsche 914 Amco front and rear bumper bars.

Those are what came on the 914 that i have. They are mounted by drilling holes thru the bumper. I guess you know what that does to your bumpers! RUST RUST RUST. I thought they looked kinda cool till i saw what they did to the bumpers.

yep -
I have seen them on several cars. My college room mate had the 911 version on a long nose.

Jawja,

They were sold by the Porsche+Audi dealers back in the day, as were the AMCO cloisonne licensed Porsche Crest & shift pattern shift knobs in Walnut & Leatherette covered .... at a significant mark-up to the $5 which you could mail order them directly from AMCO (I have an old 73 magazine with that ad in it somewhere). dry.gif

Jeff Bowlsby has an excellent listing of the accessories available for 914s back in the 70's, as well as a bunch of other great info at his website:

^ the ad in my magazine is more generic for many makes' crests.

My 73 2L had the AMCO leatherette wrapped Porsche crest shift knob on it when I bought it in late 75, which the OO/PO had gotten at the selling dealer, & you you see them on a lot of 356 > 911/912 & newer P-cars.

I've always liked it much better than the OEM knob, but need to find a new NOS one for my resto.

Thank you so much for this info. I never knew this! Who says you can't teach an old dawg new tricks!
