I'm thinking about a more aggressive cam on my engine (it's still in the shop...long story).
I happen to have a webcam 86a on hand. Here is the spec

I won't go to carbs and I know this will fool D-Jet vacuum but, I like the L-Jet and want to keep it.

As hard as I try, I can't see a real reason L-Jet will not work with carbs overlapping cams as the fuel metering is based on the intake air flow, very similar to carbs.

Anyone has any experience with this?

Worst case, the cam will be in the classifieds.

I also like L jet. I have used it as big as 96 x 78, various 2056 but.....
so how much do you want for that 86a?
cam pulses make the barn door flop around
you cam go bigger but not 86a. I have schneider right down the street and he makes whatever I ask for

86a is a very poor cam for any stock FI. It has almost 20 degrees too much duration.

So did you try hardening the flap spring?
what's the biggest cam you've seen working on l-jet?

If you want to use a big cam with L-Jet, find the Volvo LH-Jet system. It uses a hot wire mass airflow sensor, so it is not so sensitive to the reversion that affects the flapper box.

It can be fitted to a 914, but it requires some mix and match of parts.
