Having trouble locating alumimum turnbuckes for my splitter. The ones I have on now (and pretty beat up from cones) have 1/4" rod ends and adjust out from 3 1/2" to 5".
I thought they came from West Marine, but no joy there.
Know where I can find these? Thanks.

I actually looked on the McMaster Carrr website, but couldn't find what I needed. But then MC got back to me and pointed out:

Only negative is that they are pretty expensive, i.e., like 15 bucks for just the female bit.

Thank God for MC, they have everything I could ever want/need to spend money on.

Randal,
Since you have 1/4" heim's, you can buy a left hand tap pretty cheap (from M-C) and make you own using aluminum tubing (or solid round bar). This way, you can make all the replacements you'll ever need. It helps to have a lathe to cut to length, square the ends, then tap drill and tap. It's cheaper in the long run.

Really, I have not seen the perfect woman in their catalog.
