Just how does the heat lever get disconnected from the cable? There's the long loop of wire, but I can't see the end of it....do I need to disconnect at the flapper boxes? I'm trying to install a console, along with the offset handle lever.

Unscrew the barrel nuts at the "flapper boxes" underneath car and pull both ends of the cable out through the lever hatch inside car on the tunnel.
