Are you sure it's not a 923 transmission? The 923 was used in the 1976 912E. It's a 915 with a 901 input shaft to accept the 914 clutch/flywheel of the T4 engine.

It does not have a standard bell housing. You cannot mount an engine directly to the transaxle. It uses a torque tube like a 944.
