My left rear brake is sticking/stuck. I noticed it a while back. It was hot from the pads rubbing. I spray some stuff on it and tried tapping on it. I had planned on just rebuilding. I've done newer cars, no biggy.
I just read Erics thread on rear brakes. blink.gif
holly crap that sounds like alot of work. Not like the newer cars.

Anyways my question is: is there a trick to fixing a sticking brake or am I going to have to fork out $ for a rebuild?

Adjust the venting clearance ? It's not hard to rebuild after reading hoe 12 times first.

Break the line loose first, see if it releases. Typical hose failure.

Rebuilding the calipers is easy. Just make sure you buy a kit with All the seals.
the hardest part is to remove the c-clips.
And don't touch the e-brake assembly and that plug unless it's stuck but that is extremely rare.

ok thanks. I'll check out the lines.
Havent done clearance yet. Had no ideal about it till tonight. I had just assumed the car had plain old standard calibers like the newer cars.

If it's not the line or something simple I'll most likely send them to him.
His instruction thread is really good, but I don't really feel like messing with them so I'll let him do it.
