What's the trick to installing the targa bar pad? Am I going to have to remove the vertical pads on either side just beneath it (the ones with the coat hooks) in order to install safely?

It has been a while since I had mine off but I'm afraid so. Side pieces off first, the targa pad. Not really that difficult however. IIRC there are only the two screws on the sides (plus seat belt connection point on mine).
