I did my first autocross with the South Bend Region SCCA at the Tire Rack this saturday. It has been 25 years since I've autocrossed (had a yellow 72 914 with 165 tires back then!). Man was it fun. My son also joined in (his first time) and had a ball. Last night my son came down and said..Dad, the BMW club is having an autocross next sunday let's go!

Since my teener is still up on jack stands I took the taildragger. Better'd my time each run (did 5 runs). Ended up shaving 5 seconds from my first run to my last. Bad thing is my son beat me by 2 seconds in his Honda Civic!!!!....oh to be young again!

Anyway, had to share (pics are not posted yet so I'll grab one off the SCCA site when they are there). I think I need racing tires though!!!!! Here is the taildragger I drove:

Does Tire Rack have a big parking lot to use or what?
Do they do testing of the tires they sell?

The Tire Rack does their own tire testing. They have a track next to their South Bend facility/HQ. They loan it out on weekends to the likes as PCA, SCCA, Audi club, BMW club etc.
