okay, he's quick in a straight line, but so are Top Fuel cars. i think he was just coasting around the turns zinging the throttle to keep the engine running and nailing the throttle once he's lined up on the straight.
you can see this technique at and SCCA AX weekend the Vipers and Corvettes are running.
he did have that nice left-hand drift nailed, but that didn't look especially challenging if you assume he's got the opportunity to practice - and it did look like he'd done this kind of thing before :-)

I know a guy who use to live in CA and moved to WA about 2 years ago. He is big into Kart racing. Really good too. Pretty amazing to watch.

I've seen this video before. Basically, this kart does not handle well at all. There's been plenty of big MC engines installed in Karts before, but never do you see one race successfully (if there was even a class). The average 250 SuperKart (capable of over 150MPH) would blow the doors off of this bastardized creation. Check out the below link for this weekend's upcomming SuperKart race at Laguna Seca. Notice that Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey are among the entrants. How does Lawson's 2003 qualifying @ 1:23.8 sound....pretty fast, huh!
