I have been running in the new cam on my newely assembled engine on the bench, still have it on the bench, is there a recommendation to re-tighten the heads before putting in the car?

Doesn't heart to tighten them.
The reason for triggering is that after few heat cycles, the heads seat better on the cylinders by smashing the contact surface just a bit.
Same thing happens to the valves so you'll need a new adjustment.
Repeat this after 5-6 heat cycles and few run hours.

To retorque all the head bolts you will need to remove the rockers so a valve adjustement will be necessary.
