Hey guys,
I have a 1976 914. I would like to put a 1970's 911s motor in my car. Is this an easy swap? Anyone out there done it?

Thanks,
Derek

welcome.....

it is a very common swap...of course nowadays most people swap in the bigger 911 engines....do a few searches here for "conversions" and such, tons of posts with breakdowns on prices and options

It's not a cheap conversion. Figure on $4,000 in conversion parts if you buy everything off the shelf.

agree.gif that, plus the price of the engine and labour, the usual pricetag is around $10k - $12k if you have someone else do it for you.

btw., you should really consider a more modern 911 engine, like a 3.2 with FI ...

It's actually cheaper (or at least a whole lot easier) to buy a 911. Get both - best of both worlds.
