Hello all,
a friend of mine tells me that a couple of his buddies might
be driving over to Santa Cruz next Sunday, which just happens
to be my 40th birthday

They'll be leaving from Stockton (35 miles from me in modesto)

I'm not sure exactly what time they'd be leaving. Just thought
I'd put the idea out to anyone to see IF there's any interest
in going for a drive.

Once I know the exact detail, I'll be sharing them with whomever
shows interest in going with.

Mount Diablo is short and sweet drive. I have also heard that there is a cool road that jumps over the mountain East of San Jose to South of Tracy.

OK I found a map!

Hwy 5 to Patterson Pass exit
Head West (Right if you are heading South on 5) on Del Puerto Cyn
When you hit San Antoinio Rd Turn Left
to Mt Hamilton Rd Keep Right (or follow to Mckee, both hit the 680)
To Alum Rock Left
To 680 North (Right)
To Calaveras Rd Exit Right
Keep Left on Calaveras at Calaveras Res
To 84 East (Right) to Livermore Vallecitos Rd
To 4th Street Right
To South Livermore Right
South Livermore Av turns into Tesla Road
Tesla goes over the mountain to 580 in Tracy at Corral Hollow
Then home wherever you live!! 90-100 miles From Patterson Pass to Corral Hollow Rd

If you live farther South you can take Mines Road back to Del Puerto and turn Left That will take you back to Patterson Pass on Hwy 5 125-150 miles From Patterson Pass back to Patterson Pass

Just a thought! No gas or food until you get to Alum Rock from Patterson Pass

I've actually got some buddies heading over to Del Puerto Cyn
on their motorcycles on Saturday. I only fell one time while riding
a m/c, it was on the way to Del Puerto Cyn, we had taken the
Alum Rock exit off of 680, having come from the SJ area I believe.

Anyone who wants to make the above mentioned drive over Del Puerto, we will be meeting at Patterson Pass at 10:15 and driving to San Jose. Then back into the mountains tward Livermore. We will be having lunch in either San Jose or Livermore depending on if anyone else joins up with us!

Any way I can get directions from someone on how to get to this Patterson pass exit. I tried punching it into mapquest, but it only found Pacheco pass. Any directions at all coming from either Hwy 17, or 152, I can go either way. Much appreciated.

I think Jeff is leaving Livermore at about 9am, I think he said it'll take him
an hour to get to the Patterson Pass exit at hwy 5.
He's meeting me there, I live in Modesto.

There IS a Chevron (says jeff) at that exit, IF that helps you locate the
exit.

Okay, I just searched for Patterson in general and I have directions to get to Highway 5. Where off the highway are we meeting? Will it be obvious? Is there a parking lot or something there? I know that 580 just becomes 5 so I assume I will be traveling the right direction to get to the Patterson pass exit. Any tips or funny stuff I should look out for. I guess if I get lost I can call one of 'yall, I will do my best to be there by 10:15 (actually I am gonna shoot for about 10:00)
