Yes, there is a method to this madness.

Has anybody ever fit 914-6 headers onto a 911 engine with the engine still in a 911 car? Yes they are pointed the wrong way. This is just for testing purposes - not to be driven. I'm just curious if they fit fine and clear everything pointed forward.

My guess is no. Exhaust is higher than the floor pan. If flipped around, it would hit the torsion tube.
